Common questions
How does BitSettle make money if it's free?
It won't be free forever. Paid plans (Pro, Scale) will gate the live API key, webhooks, custom branding and multi-wallet routing. The Free tier will always cover basic checkout.
Do you ever hold my Bitcoin?
No. Every checkout uses a fresh address derived from the xpub you provide. The private keys live in your wallet, not ours. We literally cannot move your funds.
What about chargebacks or refunds?
Bitcoin transactions are final. There are no chargebacks. Refunds are handled by you sending BTC back from your wallet to the customer's address.
How fast is settlement?
As fast as Bitcoin itself — typically one confirmation in ~10 minutes. The session is marked paid as soon as we see the transaction on-chain.
Can I take card payments too?
Not today. BitSettle is Bitcoin-only by design — that's what keeps it non-custodial and free of card-network fees, KYC, and acquirer relationships.
